The Shoemakers
dry point, roller (1910)
Near an open window, two cobblers are sitting at a workbench, facing each other: on the right, the frizzy haired worker has just raised his head, while on the left, his almost bald comrade is leaning on his work. The workshop is cluttered with tools and materials lying on the ground. A jumble of old shoes hangs down the window, through which distant buildings and chimneys can be seen.
Only state, 132 mm × 152 mm.
