An old travelling saleswoman, sitting on the pavement, right next to a manhole, waits for the customer to come, her head resting on her left hand. Behind her, the tripe shop and its saleswoman.
2nd state, 106 mm × 102 mm.
Printed at 75 impressions and 4 artist proofs.

Final state, with many additional etching and drypoint works on the hams and the upper part of the blind.

Plate printed by Delâtre and edited by Diétrich, who preferred to discard the name Triperie et Marchande de Légumes in favor of La Petite Fruitière, judged more sober. The final state was printed at 10 on parchment, 15 on japan and 50 on laid paper. Plate destroyed. Three pen-and-ink sketches of this subject were given by Brouet to Grignard, then passed into the Petiet collection (sale June 2011, lot n° 11).
