The proximity of the inspiration to the Fratellinis (Ba 462) is not accidental: an unsigned note, but probably from J. Guiffrey's entourage, in the archives of the RMN (C30, Brouet), suggests that the artist could execute a plate of the size of the Fratellinis (N°61-62 of the exhibition of March 1922 [EB 61, EB 62]) at a price of 6000 fr. Ten proofs with remarques would be reserved for the author. The author would sign 100 Chalcography prints, which would be sold as artists' proofs.Chalcography: inv. no. 6874 Le Cirque, ef and ps (0.34×0.26).
