A Gathering in Camargue

A gathering of gipsies at the foot of the hill of les Saintes-Maries de la Mer. There is quite a picturesque crowd around the wagons. At the back the church of the Saintes-Maries stands out over the scene.

Vernaut (sic), l'Estampe moderne, 14 rue Richelieu) The plate was then acquired by the Chalcographie in 1932 (inv. no. 6829). The remarque representing a camp near a village is to be compared with the Roulotte (Ba 328).

With the fourth remarque: a landscape, and the dry stamp of the Cercle de la Librairie. This state was printed at 75 proofs on hollande and 25 on japon.
