It is night. Brightly lit from the left, eleven gypsies are grouped around a table. A woman is breastfeeding a naked baby. A child is sitting on the floor in the middle of the room, in the half-light. They are listening to an accordion tune.

The lower left drawing has been reshaped: a woman's head has appeared, as well as a stool in the foreground and small objects on the table. The breastfeeding mother is upright.

The drawing has not been modified, but the densest blacks, obtained with the roulette wheel, have been softened, especially at the bottom and on the right, so that the light is less harsh.
