A ragman's hovel: in the foreground, a man in a hat handles odds and ends, facing a small stove. The floor is littered with odds and ends. Behind him, a man in a hat is carrying his goods in bales, surrounded by other busy characters. On the right a cart.

Plate from the cut of Sur les Fortifs (Ba 74): only the motif of the ragpickers' village on the right is preserved. This print predates the war, but was reprinted (edition of 100), probably in the early 1920s.
