A woman wearing a hat is perched on a high stool that is almost completely burried under her ample fur coat. She is looking at a print. On the right, in a cartel, a press. Above, the inscription E. DELATRE. Signed in the plate in reverse.

A somewhat crudely modelled work, in dense and rapid drypoint hatching, to be compared with Delâtre's works of the period such as the 1896 portrait of E. Gressin (see Cate and Grivel 1995, reproduced).
