Print published by l'Estampe Moderne, printed, probably by Vernant, at 75 on laid paper and 10 on japanese paper, and described in the Bibliographie de la France (January 29, 1926, p. 36, no. 1593: Rue Lepic, original etching by Brouet, 0.195×0.150, without remarques. Edition of 112 proofs on various papers and states, at 700 fr). The plate was transferred to the Chalcographie in 1932 (inv. no. 7159) under the name Coin de la Rue Lepic. A place that one frequently encounters at Brouet's (see Coin Rue Lepic Place Blanche (Ba 14)). La Maison Rouge was a cabaret, located at 2 rue Lepic, where artists like Carco, Warnod, Chas Laborde, Mac Orlan, Salmon or Pascin used to meet. It is described by Francis Carco in Jésus la Caille and quoted in the Tombeau de Pascin by P. Mac Orlan.
