The Roll-Call

An underground masonry barracks: on the right soldiers are sleeping, on the left weapons on the rack. In the centre two men at a table: one is dozing, the other is writing under the dictation of a bearded soldier, standing, who, with a list in his hand, proceeds with the counter-call.
