The well is leaning against the wall of a farmhouse, near a door. Sitting in the doorway is a woman with her work on her knees, looking into the distance. Standing in front of the well, a man is holding a bucket on the curb and seems to be addressing the seated woman. In the foreground, another bucket on which a hoop is leaning (?).
